
Born in Jamaica, Angelique began her dance training at the Graham-based School of Toronto Dance Theatre in Toronto, Canada. After a brief start to her career in Quebec City, Canada, she moved to Europe where she has lived and worked for the past 13 years.
Working primarily on the freelance circuit, she has been part of companies and independent projects in Barcelona (E), Tours (F), London (GB), Frankfurt (D), Ghent (B) and Brussels (B).
In Belgium, where she is now based, those projects have included Cie Karin Vyncke, les Ballets C. de la B., Needcompany, and as a singer with the Belgian world-music group Zap Mama.
While continuing to perform independently both as a dancer and a singer, Angelique now teaches contemporary technique as well as voice/movement and composition/improvisation workshops extensively in Belgium and abroad.
She is a regular guest teacher of Ultima Vez/ Wim Vandekeybus (Brussels), Park Studio/Henny Jurriens Stichting (Amsterdam), Charleroi/Danses (Brussels), Circuit-Est (Montreal), SEAD (Salzburg), ImPulsTanz Vienna, among others.
